Record half year for Simon-Kucher
Global strategy and marketing consultancy reports 19 percent revenue increase over last year at 175 million US dollars (147 million euros) worldwide
Bonn – For Simon-Kucher & Partners, the first half of 2018 was by far the strongest in the company’s history. Revenue increased by 19 percent over last year at 175 million dollars (147 million euros) worldwide. An order entry of 198 million dollars (166 million euros) also indicates the second half of the year will be equally as strong. “We estimate a total revenue from 345 to 360 million dollars (290 to 300 million euros) for 2018,” reports Dr. Georg Tacke, CEO at Simon-Kucher & Partners.
The sectors with the strongest growth are software/internet/media, the traditional industrial business, and travel/tourism/leisure, all with growth rates above 50 percent. “These sectors are undergoing extreme changes thanks to new digital opportunities. Many companies here are still inadequately prepared and so consulting services are in high demand,” adds Tacke.
Simon-Kucher has experienced strong growth over the last six months in all regions, even in Europe’s mature markets. “In Germany, France, and the UK the growth rates are each 25 percent. This shows that the reputedly saturated markets still offer major revenue potential.”
The consultancy continues on its expansion course: In the first half of the year the firm opened its first Africa office in Cairo, followed by additional locations in Chicago and Shanghai. In the second half of the year Simon-Kucher is planning to open an office in Mexico.
