Rick is a Senior Advisor in the New York office of Simon-Kucher & Partners.
Rick’s major focus, both as a management consultant and as a business executive, has been growth through business model innovation and optimization. In addition, he has expertise in designing and leading profitability programs. Rick has also directed strategic acquisitions from selection to integration and operation. Further, he has helped to successfully launch and scale startups.
As a consultant, Rick was previously a partner and ran the North American Capital Markets and E-Commerce Practice at Oliver Wyman & Co. He also served as a partner and head of the US Capital Markets strategy practice at PwC.
As an executive, Rick has acted as COO as well as head of strategy at multiple capital markets and fintech firms, including Investment Technology Group and Knight Capital, across both equities and fixed income trading. He is a founding board member of Lava Trading, an innovative electronic trading firm that Citibank acquired. He also served as a member of the Investment Committee for a venture capital fund formed as a joint venture between Schroders and Oliver Wyman. Rick also co-founded and launched an electronically-driven marketplace lender in the SME space that was profitable in its first six months of operation.
Rick earned a BA degree from Stanford University with honors and distinction. He recently completed the Stanford Executive Program and is an alumnus of its Graduate School of Business. He is actively enrolled in Harvard University’s Business Analytics Program.
