The longer that demand remains volatile – both in terms of form and extent – the more it will expose the risks and flaws of rigid pricing models, especially ones that were highly optimized for a market that essentially no longer exists.
Companies will need to accelerate moves towards highly differentiated pricing at a micro-segment or personal level. This will need to be supported by new governance and tools to enable fast, efficient, decentralized decision making on prices.
