Are you getting the value you deserve for the innovations you create? Probably not: Our past Global Pricing Study found that across all industries, 72% of innovations fail to meet their financial targets, with 25% of companies failing to meet profit targets for all of their product launches.

Things haven’t got much better, with our 2019 study this year finding that even when companies invest in innovative areas like digitalization, the outcome is quite often not as desired. Almost three quarters of companies surveyed said they have invested in digitalization initiatives in the last three years, but less than half of them were able to detect visible impact from these initiatives on their bottom line.

What do these numbers mean? That innovation alone isn’t enough, and it’s quite hard to make money from it. Research & development is expensive, start-ups disrupt whole markets with their ideas since they are able to take more financial risks, and the overall rate of innovations is accelerating. So, monetizing innovations to enable your company’s growth is harder than ever.

That’s where we come into play: At Simon-Kucher & Partners, monetizing innovation is one of the main pillars we place our clients’ success on. Learn more about our strategy at our Monetization Forum. On Monday, September 23rd, 2019, we want to explore with you how technology companies design successful growth strategies and penetrate new markets.
