Sophie is a Director in the Life Sciences division of Simon-Kucher & Partners. She works with various healthcare technology companies, especially medtech, diagnostics and B2B suppliers across a range of therapeutic areas. Her experience includes commercial / pricing excellence, go-to-market strategy development, pricing and packaging optimization, service architecture and monetization, sales force sizing and territory alignment.
Prior to joining Simon-Kucher, Sophie was a device engineer for drug delivery systems at Janssen R&D, a Johnson & Johnson company in Fremont, CA and a materials engineer at Cambridge Polymer Group in Boston, MA. She was also a consultant at Oxbridge Biotech Roundtable, assessing new markets for unlicensed medical devices from the office of technology licensing at a university.
Sophie received her Ph.D. in bioengineering from the University of California at Berkeley, where she developed novel therapies for brain tumors. She also holds a Certificate in Management of Technology from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, and a B.S. in biological engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
She is the author and coauthor of several scientific publications and has research experience in computational and experimental cellular biomechanics, molecular dynamics, cell biology, cancer stem cell biology, tissue engineering and materials engineering.
