AI Is Rewriting SaaS Value Creation: Where Traditional Playbooks Are Breaking (and How to Fix Them)
AI is reshaping how value is created and defended. For investors and operators, traditional SaaS playbooks are under pressure: AI-native entrants compress differentiation, shift workflows, and redefine monetization. At the same time the GTM playbook has fundamentally changed. In today’s environment, growth no longer comes from scaling headcount or increasing spend – it comes from precision, focus, and smarter execution.
This roundtable, hosted in collaboration with GTM Leader Society, convenes a select group of Operating Partners and portfolio executives (COO, CFO, CRO) to focus on practical action.
From a monetization angle, we will cover the key dimensions to assess and strengthen AI-era moats:
Workflow control: Are we looking at just a point product or an end-to-end workflow orchestration solution?
Data advantage: Is the product built on just public/commodity data or a proprietary 1P dataset, enriched with proprietary insights?
Compliance & risk management: Are the stakes of replacing the product low or would a rip and replace come with serious trust and compliance risks?
Distribution & ecosystem: Are we looking at a standalone product or a deeply integrated product, ideally at the center of a developer/partner ecosystem?
Ownership of outcomes: Is this product just a tool or copilot or can it drive end-to-end outcomes?
From a GTM angle, we’ll break down what strategies are driving results in this new AI era: From sharpening ICP definition and prioritizing high-value segments, to tightening sales qualification and aligning marketing, sales, and customer success around clear revenue motions, the focus has shifted to doing fewer things, but far better.
The session will be highly interactive and grounded in real portfolio examples. We will continue the discussion over dinner following the roundtable.
