Consumer healthcare companies face increasing pressure to engage pharmacies more effectively while controlling costs. Pharmacy engagement now spans multiple channels, including field sell-in and sell-out teams, key account management, order platforms, remote interactions, CRM campaigns, and digital touchpoints such as email and WhatsApp. In many organizations, these activities remain fragmented rather than managed as an integrated omnichannel approach.

Effective omnichannel engagement requires a strong data and systems foundation. This includes the right data infrastructure and the ability to use data to define clear channel roles, tailor engagement by pharmacy type, and improve interactions with pharmacists, PTAs, and other pharmacy staff.  

AI is becoming an important enabler within this model. When applied effectively, AI can support account prioritization, provide actionable recommendations such as next-best-action, and improve consistency across channels.
