Michael is Head of Cologne office and a member of Simon-Kucher’s Life Sciences and global HealthTech team, working out of its Cologne office in Germany. He previously worked out of Simon-Kucher’s US headquarter in Boston, MA. Michael has a dedicated focus to serve Simon-Kucher’s diagnostics clients and is also co-leading its global healthcare service provider business.
Over more than 10 years at Simon-Kucher, Michael has been leading major international assignments in the medical device, diagnostics and healthcare provider space. His consulting work focuses on commercial excellence topics (e.g., customer pricing, growth strategy), portfolio & innovation projects (e.g., value, market access, launch pricing) as well as transformation & implementation programs (e.g., CPQ, business automation). Michael has experience across therapeutic areas as well as diagnostic sub-sectors (e.g., imaging, genomics, molecular, core lab, pathology, digital solutions - clinical or workflow, etc.). Michael worked for large, multi-national Life Sciences corporates as well as agile, start-up companies
Michael received his PhD from RWTH Aachen University. During that time, Michael supported university start-ups to receive funding and helped them commercialize their innovations. Prior to this, Michael studied Business Engineering at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and at San Diego State University.
