Rick Spear is a Partner in Simon-Kucher’s Financial Services Practice based in New York, where he leads the America’s efforts across capital markets, asset and wealth management.
A seasoned professional with over 40 years creating value for capital markets, asset management, and wealth management firms, Rick has a distinguished career spanning consulting and industry leadership. Rick has been instrumental in guiding organizations in capital markets and fintech vendors towards refining their growth strategies and priorities. His expertise lies in driving growth through business model innovation and optimizing product-market fit for companies serving clients both domestically and internationally.
Prior to joining Simon-Kucher, Rick held pivotal roles in organizations within the financial sector. He served as Managing Director and member of the Executive Committee at Investment Technology Group, focusing on global equities electronic trading. Prior to that, Rick held senior executive positions at Knight Trading, contributing to strategy and corporate development across FX and fixed income sectors. Additionally, he served as a Partner overseeing North America capital markets at Oliver Wyman and began his career at Morgan Stanley, contributing to the development of trading and portfolio management systems.
Rick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with honors and distinction from Stanford University and is an alumnus of Stanford’s Graduate School of Business through the SEP program.
